Diego brings over 13 years of experience in the life sciences industry, blending a passion for understanding clients with a strategic vision to create lasting value. For more than a decade at Thermo Fisher Scientific, the global leader in biotechnology, he led high-performance teams and closed multi-million dollar deals.
Today, at Codebreaker Bioscience, he leads our commercial expansion, connecting biotechnology and the transformative power of the microbiome with the solutions our clients need to tackle future challenges.

Catalina Lorca
Laboratory Manager
Catalina is a medical technologist with a specialization in Morphophysiopathology and Cytodiagnosis, graduated with highest distinction from the University of Valparaíso.
Her career combines experience in molecular biology, pathological anatomy, laboratory management, and the development of applied scientific solutions. She has successfully led standardization processes, technical improvements, and team coordination, both in clinical and research environments, always standing out for her rigor and quality orientation.
At Codebreaker, Catalina oversees the laboratory operation, ensuring the reproducibility of results, operational continuity, and compliance with the highest standards, guaranteeing a reliable, agile, and excellent service for each of our clients.

Luis E. León
Lead Bioinformatician
Biochemist, with a PhD in Molecular Genetics and Microbiology. Bioinformatician and data scientist with extensive experience in omics technologies.
Luis has embarked on an exciting journey in the world of biotechnology, collaborating with companies like uBiome, Psomagen, and PhageLab. Throughout his career, he has developed everything from bioinformatics software and pipelines to reporting systems, databases, and cloud solutions, always with a practical, results-oriented focus.
Today he leads the bioinformatics team at Codebreaker, where he drives the development of algorithms that combine genomics and data science to transform the microbiome into real decision-making tools. His focus is on creating smart solutions, aligned with the productive needs of our clients.

Agustín Piña
Product Manager - MICRO-ID™
Agustín is a veterinarian with a specialization in genetics and microbiome applied to animal production. Throughout his career, he has driven the development of biotechnological tools that enhance production efficiency while keeping sustainability in focus.
His experience spans across disciplines such as bioinformatics, animal welfare, and data science, making him a crucial bridge between research and the real needs of the production field.
At Codebreaker, he leads as Product Manager the development of MICRO-ID™, our cutting-edge technology for microbiological analysis. From strategy to implementation, Agustín ensures that every scientific advancement is transformed into concrete, accessible, and high-impact solutions for our clients.

Francisco Fuentes
Senior Bioinformatician
Francisco is a biochemist and a PhD candidate in Bioinformatics and Systems Biology, with a strong background in developing computational solutions to solve complex biological problems. A specialist in massive data analysis applied to microbiology, he has participated in key genomic surveillance projects, including the monitoring and analysis of all available SARS-CoV-2 data in Chile and Latin America.
His experience ranges from specialized programming to creating automated workflows for metagenomic data processing, enabling agile and precise interpretation of large volumes of biological information.
At Codebreaker, Francisco has been pivotal in the development of bioinformatic infrastructure that transforms complex data into clear, precise, and actionable results, thus facilitating strategic decision-making and the success of the projects we implement alongside our clients.

Camilo Ibarra
Intern
Camilo is a graduate and thesis student in Biotechnology Engineering from Andrés Bello University (UNAB), with a strong scientific background and a deep passion for applied microbiology.
He has gained valuable practical experience in the development and scaling of probiotic bacteria at Liva Company, actively contributing to the creation of biotechnological products with industrial applications. Additionally, during his internship at the Center for Systems Biotechnology (CSB-UNAB), he delved into applied research and experimental design.
Currently, Camilo is part of the laboratory team at Codebreaker, where he applies his knowledge to support production processes, always with the aim of transforming science into real solutions for industry and health.

He is currently an assistant professor at the Center for Bioinformatics and Integrative Biology at Universidad Andrés Bello, where he leads research projects funded by FONDECYT, FONDEF, and actively participates in the Anillo Gene2Dis project, which is dedicated to creating tools for the genomic surveillance of emerging pathogens.
